Happy Monday everyone! I hope you were able to recharge over the weekend, so you could start the week off strong. For this week, I wanted to focus on something a little different. It might come as a surprise to some readers, but I consider myself an environmentalist. I still drive my car regularly, eat meat, and occasionally use a plastic straw when my lipstick requires. However, I think we have a responsibility to try to make a few lifestyle changes for our planet. Some things I have recently started to do include using reusable grocery bags instead of plastic, recycling when I can, and trying to eliminate/reduce certain shopping decisions. Did you know fast fashion significantly contributes to pollution?
However, don’t fear! There are a few steps we as consumers can take to look fabulous while still being environmentally conscious. Some of these steps include trying to buy clothes made from natural fabrics such as wool, silk, and cotton rather than synthetic fabrics when possible. Another step includes avoiding buying articles of clothing that won’t last longer than a wash or two. Instead, purchase high-quality items that will last years, so you are not throwing things away after you’ve only worn them a few times. Finally, consider purchasing clothes from recycled materials.
I especially love Kate Hudson’s line at New York & Co, because the line focuses on using either natural materials or recycled fabric. The clothes are very high quality, and they look amazing while being a little more environmentally friendly option. I would highly recommend checking out the collection for some cute office attire. If the Kate Hudson collection isn’t necessarily your style, you can check out some of the other collections too. NY & Co is very high quality, so you won’t have to worry about throwing things away after a couple of washes. They are having a sale right now. What’s even better? If you shop their site via this link, you can score $15 off a purchase of $30 or more with the code NYCOFANS. Check out their site if you are in need of some new attire without hurting your wallet. Have a great week!
