Outfit of the Week: Peplum V-Neck

Happy Monday everyone! What better way to kick off a new week than with a fun outfit? Sometimes, I think simple is better, and that is exactly how I felt when assembling this outfit. I recently found this shirt on clearance at Nordstorm for only $12. It was something I normally wouldn’t purchase, but I’m very happy I did! It adds something fun to my wardrobe that I normally wouldn’t wear. One of my favorite fashion mentors always suggests wearing something you aren’t completely comfortable in when you need to break out of a fashion rut, so I was attempting to do just that with this shirt.

Unfortunately, the shirt is no longer available since I purchased it on a heavily discounted clearance rack. However, I found the same shirt minus the pattern. If you like the pattern, you could also try something like this or this. If you do end up wearing something like this to work, I would recommend layering something like a camisole underneath to prevent too much cleavage from showing.

I paired the shirt with these khakis from Gap. I was trying to pull some of the navy from the shirt to elsewhere in the outfit, so these pants worked great. I wear them on occasion, and they are great quality. Plus, they’re on sale right now if you’re interested. For shoes, I pulled in some Jimmy Choos. I thought the small amount of light blue from the shirt would bring the shoes into the outfit. If you are looking for something more affordable, these could give you a similar look for less.

My tote is from Coach, but they no longer carry this style. If you want, there are a few available on Poshmark. Otherwise, this navy tote is very similar.
