Happy February everyone! I am looking forward to this month, because there is so much I have in store for Professionally Posh. I wanted to kick off the first post of the month with an outfit of the week.

The weather in Houston still has not been the greatest, so I have been wearing coats most days. A friend of mine in Montana explained how difficult it was for her to dress nicely in such a cold climate compared to me living in Texas. This conversation inspired me to create a more winter-centric outfit for the week with colder colors (and cozy fabrics).

I started the outfit with a geometric print pencil skirt. A patterned pencil skirt is always a great option in my opinion, because it can add more depth to an outfit. However, try to avoid adding too much pattern. I prefer to pair patterned skirts with solid tops and blouses. For this skirt, I selected a simple ivory colored sweater that has been a closet staple of mine for years. If you buy anything from this entire outfit, get the sweater. It goes with everything. I’ve had it for years. It is so cozy. And? It’s on sale for $30.

What screams winter chic more than a great pair of booties? I thought they would be the perfect addition to this outfit. I finished the outfit off with a classic navy coat. This coat is wool, so it is great for keeping warm in colder climates. I opted for a grey tote bag, because I was worried something else might have made the outfit too busy. If you are in a colder area, I would recommend wearing some tights with the outfit to keep your legs covered and warm.

As we start of February with a more winter-themed outfit, just remember Punxsutawney Phil has predicted spring is just around the corner,  so you can be looking forward to some cute spring outfits coming soon on the blog. Enjoy your week!
